Internships

Congressional internships are an excellent opportunity for students to learn about our government and to contribute to Congresswoman Lowey’s work on behalf of the 17th Congressional District. All internships in Congresswoman Lowey's office are unpaid. Applicants will be contacted for interviews (either in person or over the phone) after the application deadlines. 

For internships in the Westchester and Rockland County District Offices: The application deadline for 2019 summer internships in either the Westchester or Rockland County district offices is Friday, March 1st, 2019.While there is no deadline for fall or winter internships, applications are preferred by the end of August. High school seniors and college students are encouraged to apply to the office located in the county in which they currently reside.

For internships in the Washington, D.C. office: The application deadline for 2019 summer internships in DC will be at date to be determined in March 2019.   Applications for fall or winter internships are accepted on a rolling basis. However, preference will be given to those who apply by the end of July and who are either currently in college or recently graudated. All applicants for an internship in the D.C. office must be available for a phone interview.
