Lowey Statement on Updated Score for House TrumpCare Bill

Washington, DC – Congresswoman Nita M. Lowey (D-Rockland/Westchester), Ranking Member of the House Appropriations Committee, today released the following statement on the House TrumpCare bill:

“Today, the nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office confirmed that TrumpCare 2.0 is still a complete disaster for American families. It would drop 23 million Americans from their health insurance in addition to removing protections for those with pre-existing conditions, imposing an Age Tax on older Americans, and raising premiums by 20% in 2018.

“TrumpCare remains a cruel attack on seniors and those with pre-existing conditions that could endanger the lives of millions. President Trump and Congressional Republicans must stop playing political games before they cause irreparable damage. They must work with Democrats to achieve commonsense solutions that will ensure all Americans receive the quality, affordable care they deserve.”
