Lowey Congratulates Valhalla High School on Earning National Blue Ribbon Honors
VALHALLA, NY – Congresswoman Nita Lowey (D-NY17/Rockland-Westchester) today congratulated Valhalla High School for being recognized as a 2017 National Blue Ribbon School for overall academic excellence. Valhalla is just one of 342 public and private schools nationwide to earn this recognition.
“Education is paramount for our children, which is why it’s important to recognize and celebrate schools that set high standards and foster student achievement,” said Congresswoman Lowey. “Valhalla High School is leading by example, and I’m proud that the school’s students, teachers, and administrators have been honored for their outstanding work and impressive achievements.”
Every year, the U. S. Department of Education celebrates great American schools demonstrating that all students can achieve at high levels. The National Blue Ribbon Schools Program recognizes public and private elementary, middle, and high schools based on their overall academic excellence or their progress in closing achievement gaps among student subgroups. Valhalla was honored as an Exemplary High Performing School.
